Remarks by Dr. Tzu-Ming Liu (劉子銘) for Dylan Heberle

This is a bilateral collaboration between Prof. Chris Xu’s and my Labs. Dylan came here to learn about how to fabricate an FPGA-based image acquisition system for his future use in pulse-synchronized laser scanning microscopy. Since July 4th, he started to participate in the research activity in our lab and work well. The technical learning include: 1. How to use verilog language to code the FPGA boards for data acquisition. 2. How to use a discriminator circuit to provide laser-synchronized trigger. 3. How to use software to control data flow from FPGA to computer and show the images on the screen.
