Julia L. Stevens is an intern of the EAPSI fellowship with a research objective on “Implications of marine invasions: Comparison of the bacterial communities associated with the red lionfish (Pterois volitans) between its native Indo-Pacific and invasive Atlantic and Caribbean”. The study builds reliable correspondence for bacterial communities between source and sink aimed, and provides good insights on phylogeographic relationships of the lionfishes as well. Julia is an independent and self-reliant young scientist who also has an excellent ability to work in a group by having good communication skills in verbal and writing. With a good punctuality and responsibility toward the work, Julia is one of the best interns I have advised.
