SIT-Summer Institute in Taiwan
Academic Exchange & Cultural Experience in Taiwan
Tung-Yung Fan_樊同雲
The program of Summer Institute in Taiwan provides a great opportunity to outstanding graduate students in the United States to conduct important and interesting studies using the advantageous research environment in Taiwan. The Ph D student, Camerron Crowder, of Oregon State University studies the impacts of increased seawater temperature on hormonal fluctuation in brooding Taiwanese corals in the National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium (NMMBA). Miss Crowder experienced the beauty of coral reefs and the convenience of investigating live corals in NMMBA. It makes us a better understanding of the effects of seawater temperature and hormonal regulation on reproductive timing of corals. The American and Taiwanese students share their knowledge and experience of life, learning, and culture in tropical Southern Taiwan. It brings a lot of new growth in their life.
