For future SIT fellows, not only can you know more about Taiwanese culture more deeply, but also meet many enthusiastic foreigners.

--- Sharon Liu (2013 & 2014 staff)

1. Your Motivation for joining this program:

First of all, I love making new foreign friends! I am not afraid of meeting up new friends, especially foreigners. Second, I want to let foreigners know more about this beautiful island, Taiwan. Finally, I want to learn how to implement a project and apply my economic profession practically, so I am the chief of finance in 2014 SIT.

2. From your previous experiences in SIT program, you learned…

I used to be very shy when delivering a speech in front of the crowds, however, last year, since I was responsible for orientation and most farewell this two activities, I am not afraid of speaking in front of so many people anymore, meanwhile, thanks to sit, I met many top graduate students coming from America and Canada, chatting with them always let me know many surprising things and looking on the different aspects towards one thing.

3. Is there any difference between the program in 2013 and 2014?

The attitude of doing things of myself I think. In 2013, it was my first time joining the SIT, I am responsible for orientation and the MOST farewell, I learned how to manage an activity, how to be confidence when giving the speech in front of so many people. However, in 2014, this was my second time to join in the SIT, I think I am more mature on dealing things and can discover many little things than before.

4. Words for future SIT fellows and staff.

SIT will definitely one of your unforgettable memories in my whole life. For future SIT fellows, not only can you know more about Taiwanese culture more deeply, but also meet many enthusiastic foreigners. For SIT staff, because the orientation activities are organized by the college students from different departments, you have to learn how to cooperate with them. You will learn the skills of teamwork and how to implement a program.
